“Royal Bank of Scotland Battles Zombie Army”
Published on 12 May in THE SUNDAY TIMES, Derek Sach, head of
the Royal Bank of Scotland’s Global Restructuring Group, identified how over
1000 UK businesses were saved through 2012 and Q1 2013. Independent Slitters
Limited are particularly proud of being amongst just three of these businesses
featured in the publication.
We are impressed by the operational work carried by John
Davison, labelled “the doctor” by RBS. Our restructuring however was
exclusively “financially based” and we did not benefit from the more “hands on”
operational work carried out on other businesses by specialists like Davison.
We were fortunate to have these skills in house but
recognise that this is not always the case. Derek Sach identifies in the
publication, his wish to hire well seasoned business men with 20 to 30 years
experience to carry out more of the type of work undertaken by Davidson.
We are inspired with Sach’s vision and following several
approaches since the publicity surrounding our recovery, we are discussing potential
business opportunities our experience offers moving forward.
